A photographic record of Angola’s participation in the 407th African Landing Commemoration and the unveiling of the African Landing Memorial at Fort Monroe. The gathering brought together Angola’s Minister of Culture, Tourism and Environment, Filipe Zau; Ambassador Agostinho Van-Dúnem; Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger; Wanda Tucker and members of the Tucker family; community leaders, descendants and guests. Together, they honored the men and women taken from the Kingdom of Ndongo in present-day Angola and brought to Point Comfort in 1619, celebrating their memory, resilience and enduring legacy.
